EO Charleston Becomes Fastest-Growing Chapter in U.S. East Region with Record 40% Annual Growth
CHARLESTON, S.C. (April 11, 2024) – EO Charleston, the Lowcountry’s local chapter of Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), a global organization representing more than 18,000 entrepreneurs from more than 60 countries, has announced its achievement of unprecedented growth of nearly 40% over the past year. This achievement positions EO Charleston as the fastest-growing chapter within the U.S. East Region, signifying a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Charleston area.
This record growth has been spearheaded by outgoing chapter president Matt Sullivan, CEO and founder of BES Cleaning Inc. and Soul Pilgrim, LLC. Under Sullivan’s leadership, EO’s Lowcountry chapter has forged new strategic partnerships with Brewer Law Firm, KSA Insurance, and Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS), Intention Collective, ShiftHR and more, whose support has been instrumental in driving the chapter's success. Within just four years of its founding, EO Charleston’s community of members and partners has surpassed 60 local entrepreneurs, positioning the chapter to reach the next chapter level, a testament to its growing influence and impact within the local business landscape.
The growth coincides with the appointment of Jayson Tompkins, founder of Fulfill Engine and Print Your Cause and current EO Charleston membership chair. As the chapter’s incoming president, Tompkins, whose company recently underwent a global acquisition, brings a wealth of entrepreneurial experience and understanding to this leadership role.
“I am honored to lead EO Charleston during this exciting time,” Tompkins shared. “Our record-breaking growth is a testament to our chapter's entrepreneurial spirit and collaborative culture. I am committed to building on this momentum and furthering our mission of empowering entrepreneurs to achieve their highest potential."
EO Charleston has also announced a strategic partnership with the Harbor Entrepreneur Center. Led by Christina Lock, a new EO chapter member and chair of the Harbor, the collaboration underscores EO Charleston's commitment to fostering a collaborative approach to the entrepreneurial landscape in the Charleston community.
"(The Harbor) is thrilled to partner with EO Charleston to support our region's entrepreneurs,” Lock shared. “By combining the resources and networks of both organizations, we can create even greater opportunities for business owners wherever they are in their journey. From startup to exits and mentorship, we have a space to thrive."
Jessica Munday, CEO and founder of Trio Solutions Inc. (TRIO and co-founder of Cloud Nine Nonprofit Advisors), serves the organization as an area director, assisting five chapters in the U.S. East. Munday, a founding chapter member, will represent EO Charleston at the Global Leadership Conference in Singapore with thousands of other chapter leaders from around the globe from April 22 to 25.
“Being a part of EO is incredible,” shares Munday. “The friendships, the experiences, the learning—all of it is exceptional and unlike any organization I have ever been a part of. We often refer to it as the ‘EO magic.’”
Founded in 2019, EO Charleston is the only chapter of the global organization in South Carolina and the only local member-led organization connected to more than 18,000 entrepreneurs worldwide. Membership applications are open to business owners who have reached at least $1 million in revenue and are majority owners.
Additional strategic alliance partners of EO Charleston include Don Williams Global, Full Circle Fishing Charters, Angel Oak Accounting, Brad Franko Consulting, Own Your Category, Trio Solutions Inc. (TRIO), Coastal Strategic Capital and Dr. Troy Hall.
