In 2015, Sejal Lakhani became the majority owner of the information technology and cybersecurity support firm she established with her husband in 2008. It was not until his sudden passing in late February 2019, however, that Lakhani alone would be tasked with restructuring and revitalizing the business while navigating her family’s loss. Life can be unexpected and Sejal will share how vulnerability can be a strength for any business leader and a few of her lessons learned.
Sejal comes highly recommended and will be traveling to Charleston to share her insight with our chapter. Sejal began her career working for major global banking institutions, but she left the corporate world behind in 2012 to join her husband in growing his managed IT startup, TechWerxe. They built a thriving business together, but when her husband passed away from a heart attack in 2019, Sejal’s world spun out of control. For the first time in her life, Sejal was left in charge of everything– personally and professionally.
While trying to help her children cope with their grief and keep her business moving forward, Sejal discovered her husband had a problem that resulted in financial hardships for her family and their business. In the months after her husband’s death, Sejal learned valuable lessons that she hopes will help others make small life changes that can have a big impact. The journey that led her to embrace vulnerability as a strength is eye-opening and inspiring.
