EVENT RSVP, CANCELLATION AND NO-SHOW POLICY
An EO Charleston event cancellation fee of $200 per person will apply to members, partners and guests who RSVP “yes” to an event and then fail to attend without cancelling at least 3 full business days in advance of the event. The event cancellation fee will apply to all EO Charleston events unless otherwise noted on the event website. Members who do not cancel within 3 business days of an event and fail to attend the event will be charged $200 and will not be permitted to attend another chapter event until that obligation is met.
Additionally, if a member, partner or guest attends an event that they have not RSVP’d for, they will be charged a $50 gate crasher fee which must be paid on site before the individual enters the event.
Every event the Chapter hosts is funded by membership dues and sponsorship fees. We have a responsibility to members and sponsors to ensure these funds are spent wisely. A late cancellation or no-show costs the entire chapter due to the investment in food and beverage and other fixed costs. We are required to cover these charges by the venues regardless of the actual attendance numbers. In terms of administration, there are additional costs as tables are re-arranged, lists reprinted, badges created, etc., all of which take time and additional resources. Many of our events have limited space and we want to ensure everyone who wishes to attend can do so.
To ensure all members are treated fairly, the EO Charleston cancellation policy requires that those who incur the additional cost reimburse the Chapter so other members are not unfairly paying for the non-attendees. The member’s responsibility to each other is consistent in all aspects of EO.
